Tried to emerge blender-2.57-r1, but not sure if it's happen only with this package. 

ebuild blender-2.57-r1 contains: python_depends="3:3.2". 
3.2 is in the python overlay, but masked. 

Trying to emerge blender with 3.2 masked gives following error:

emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "=dev-lang/python-3.3*"

Manual unmasking python:3.2 'solves' it.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. masking python:3.2
2. emerge blender-2.57-r1

Actual Results:  
emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "=dev-lang/python-3.3*"

Expected Results:  
blender depends on 3.2, not 3.3.

Looks like a duplicate of bug 327177 but due to lack of information in this bug, I'm not sure.
