i cannot reproduce your issue. please try the new 2.6.1 ebuild and reopen if the issue still exists |
I tried to install net-misc/rabbitmq-server-2.5.1 in a new machine with no previous version of rabbitmq installed and after the installation completed I got an error when trying to start the service. From the logs I could see that the error responsible was: {error_logger,{{2011,9,2},{14,10,48}},"Cookie file /var/lib/rabbitmq/.erlang.cookie must be accessible by owner only",[]} After doing a 'chown rabbitmq:rabbitmq -R /var/lib/rabbitmq', the service started successfully. I checked the ebuild and there is a related note but it's configured to appear only "if has_version "<=net-misc/rabbitmq-server-1.8.0". I guess the proper way to fix this will be to create the rabbitmq root dir with the correct permissions but displaying the notification message will also help.
