Sounds like missing feature in kwebkitpart in upstream. Did you file a bug upstream or contact the developer, if this should work? Hi, Please test against kwebkitpart-1.2.0 in the kde overlay and confirm that whether this is fixed. Thanks! This is now in main tree. Please test and confirm status or I will have to close this WORKSFORME. Sorry, I started testing and found that now videos were being opened in new VLC windows instead of in place (in the browser) and got distracted by that. I'll get back to you in a couple of days with a detailed report. OK, this is the new situation in 1.2.0: videos play (hooray), BUT they are opened in a new window, which is not the expected behaviour. (KHTML opens in place as expected.) Shall I close this bug and open a new one for 1.2.0, or just change the subject of this one? Created attachment 291499 [details]

As you can see here, the VLC plugin has opened in a new window by itself but it should be embedded in the webpage behind it.
