Description Joeri Capens 2011-08-24 14:37:12 UTC
Bug 380401 missed the emul-linux-x86-motif package.

It works fine for me (needed for net-misc/icaclient).

Reproducible: Always

Is icaclient going to be stabilized? Last time I checked I saw no stable package needing motif libs and, then, I opted to leave motif libs also in testing :-/

Will ask Fauli as he maintains icaclient ;)

Thanks

Nope, I want icaclient in testing as it caused a lot of problems last time. Upstream is really slow to update to new Motif versions and is bound to specific so names (binary only package). So it held up Motif stabilisation last time.

Joeri, as looks like no motif consumer will be stabilized soon, I don't think there is much need on stabilize emul package also but, as motif native libs are considered stable... I wouldn't have many problems on asking its stabilization if you prefer :-/

I don't think it makes sense to keep motif from being stabilized just because the only package in the repository which depends on it is unstable.

What about other software outside of the Gentoo repositories which need it? What about future ebuilds which depend on it?

If everybody considers this package to be stable, it should be marked stable.

If that libs work ok for you, then, ok (there are no many motif apps requiring that libs in the tree and, then, I couldn't test them myself :S)
