Bug 380123 – dev-php5/pecl-memcached-2.0.0_beta2 undefined symbol

It seems that the last pecl-memcached 2.0.0_beta2 added in tree rely on a symbol of libmemcached that is not present in the version in portage (0.39). After ugrading, I get this error :

PHP Warning:  PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib64/php5.3/lib/extensions/no-debug-zts-20090626/memcached.so' - /usr/lib64/php5.3/lib/extensions/no-debug-zts-20090626/memcached.so: undefined symbol: libmemcached_check_configuration in Unknown on line 0

So it's about this symbol present in libmemcached-0.51 : http://docs.libmemcached.org/libmemcached_configuration.html#libmemcached_check_configuration
I cannot find when this was added, but obviously, it's not present in 0.39. So I think that 2.0.0_beta2 should be masked until libmemcached is updated in tree (bug #354261).
Of course, reverting to pecl-memcached-1.02 fixes the issue.
