build log
Same error on amd64 I get still the same error with sys-devel/binutils-2.21.1-r1 on x86. most failures fixed by: http://sources.gentoo.org/gentoo/src/patchsets/binutils/2.21.1/75_all_binutils-default-test-flags.patch?r1=1.1&r2=1.2 and this fixes most (if not all) of the pax failures: http://sources.gentoo.org/gentoo/src/patchsets/binutils/2.21.1/63_all_binutils-2.21.1-pt-pax-flags-20110918.patch?rev=1.1 What is the impact of this for users? I am using Gentoo stable (and sys-devel/binutils-2.21.1-r1 is marked stable) on our servers and I am very worried about these toolchain (the heart of Gentoo) patches on a stable system Created attachment 287755 [details]
New build log
Updated build.log file.
(In reply to comment #6) there should be no impact on users. all the test failures i've seen are false positives due to our hardening/etc... patches. (In reply to comment #7) i have no idea why things are failing so bad for you. your tree is failing to even compile some of the tests, and most of the failures you're showing should be fixed by my latest patch. building binutils for an x86 target *** Bug 390879 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Created attachment 302229 [details]
build.log: Test failures on amd64
Just for the record I am going to add my test failures and say that if they are in fact false positives then it would be great if the Gentoo devs could disable them in the ebuild or something, because us regular users tend to panic if a system package fails a test.
