Description Juergen Rose 2011-08-08 09:22:17 UTC
I missing the atlas library in my local science overlay:

root@condor:/root(7)# ll /var/lib/layman/science/sci-libs/atlas*
/bin/ls: cannot access /var/lib/layman/science/sci-libs/atlas*: No such file or directory

I try to sync the science overlay:

root@condor:/root(8)# layman -s science
* Fetching remote list,...
* Remote list already up to date: http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/overlays/repositories.xml
* Last-modified: Sat, 06 Aug 2011 21:15:12 GMT
* Fetch Ok
* Running Git... # ( cd /var/lib/layman/science  && /usr/bin/git pull )
Already up-to-date.
*
* Succeeded:
* ------
*
* Successfully synchronized overlay "science".

Looks OK, but I am still missing the atlas library:

root@condor:/root(9)# ll /var/lib/layman/science/sci-libs/atlas*
/bin/ls: cannot access /var/lib/layman/science/sci-libs/atlas*: No such file or directory

I delete the science overlay and create it again:

root@condor:/root(11)# layman -d science; layman -a science
* Deleting directory "/var/lib/layman/science"
* Successfully deleted overlay(s) science.
* Running Git... # /usr/bin/git clone -q git://git.overlays.gentoo.org/proj/sci.git /var/lib/layman/science
* Successfully added overlay(s) science.

Now I habe the atlas libraty in my local science overlay:

root@condor:/root(12)# ll /var/lib/layman/science/sci-libs/atlas*

Maybe this issue is a duplicate of Bug 377401.

Reproducible: Always

Comment 1 Brian Dolbec (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-08-08 18:04:55 UTC
No, it is not the same issue as bug 377401.

Actualy this is not a layman issue. Layman wraps the calls to git, svn, etc..
It is more likely just a bad download. Git just didn't know, so reported it as up to date.
Comment 2 Juergen Rose 2011-08-08 18:16:09 UTC
Perhaps it is not a issue with layman, but I had this issue at least since yesterday on at least four computers. And method to first delete and then add again the science overlay was the only way to get the atlas library contained in the science overlay.

Regards Juergen
Comment 3 Justin Lecher (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2016-01-27 08:17:13 UTC
Is this still an issue?
