I see the same error on hardened ~amd64.

This will be a regression when 1.5 is going to stable. Blocking the 1.5 stabilization bug.

only triggered by USE=apng, where as the apps using the apng feature keep on working just fine. not really a blocker, but should be fixed regardless.

i think idea is that libpng-1.4.8[apng] doesn't fail tests

should be trivial to fix this failure

to clarify.   apng patch doesn't add the exported symbols to testsuite (file: scripts/symbols.def) or change the PNG_EXPORT_LAST_ORDINAL in png.h.   don't think it's feasible to start fixing this in any other way from within ebuild.
