BMP version numbers

IMPORTANT!

Many people seem to be confused about our version numbers, so here some words of clarification.

The original versioning scheme -pre1, -pre2, etc causes trouble with the Debian packaging system as in the end it will see our final 1.0.0 as lower than all the -pre versions.

Therefore we changed the versioning scheme to 0.9.x with increasing microversion with each release. Note that bmp is currently in BETA stage until 1.0.0.!

Bottom line: Version 0.9.6 is newer than 1.0.0-pre5.


Conclusion: Debian sux and we want an ebuild :p
