Description Opportunist 2011-07-19 08:03:45 UTC
Changes between 2.5.x and 3.0-alpha1
Among other changes, this release brings full GTK 3 support, which is now enabled by default. The skinned interface required considerable rewriting to make this possible, including a switch to Cairo as the primary drawing API. As a side benefit, it can now take advantage of hardware video acceleration. Some unmaintained plugins could not be ported to GTK 3 and have been dropped: alarm, evdev-plug, ladspa, lirc, paranormal, projectm-1.0, spectrum, and streambrowser. A few others (adplug, jack, modplug, and sid) can no longer be configured by way of a GUI, though still included.

The plugin system has been made more friendly to parallel processing, making it possible to do all file probing in secondary threads, so that the user interface will not become unresponsive while items are added to the playlist.

Other changes:
- Switching playlists no longer becomes slow when many playlists are open (AUD-340).
- MP3 decoder now links to system-wide libmpg123 rather than using embedded copy, allowing assembly-optimized floating point decoding.
- When the menu bar is hidden in the GTK interface, the menus can now be accessed by right-clicking on the playback buttons.

Changes between 3.0-alpha1 and 3.0:
- Global hotkeys can now be set to toggle repeat and shuffle.
- The jump to track window now searches artist, album, and filename, as well as the displayed title.
- Album art embedded in Ogg Vorbis files is now displayed.
- The ./configure script can now detect an OSSv4 installation and enable the output plugin automatically.
- FFmpeg's new API for I/O callbacks is used. An up-to-date copy of FFmpeg is required for playback of WMA, ALAC, and some other formats.
- GTK >= 2.12 and GLib >= 2.16 are now required. Nearly all Linux systems installed in the last few years will have these.

Reproducible: Always

The maintainer, is the same author of upstream, so I think is in develpment phase.

Assigning to maintainer, if he wants magage this bug differently ;)
