Description Hannes Erven 2011-07-14 16:10:09 UTC
Is there a recommended way of serving multiple postgres "clusters" from one Gentoo install?

I found a Gentoo Forums discussion ( http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-760049-start-0.html ) but there was no result.

Ubunut/Debian seems to include tools to facilitate setup of multiple clusters on one machine:
http://www.stuartellis.eu/articles/postgresql-setup/#multiple-clusters

What I'd like to do is use one Gentoo-powered machine to act as a streaming replication slave to multiple master servers. If the masters ran different versions it would not be a problem: the current init/conf scripts already support one cluster per version, but not multiple clusters per version.

Thanks!

Reproducible: Always
