A new version of opencv has been released. It no longer depends on dev-util/nvidia-cuda-npp because npp is now part of >=dev-util/nvidia-cuda-roolkit-4.0

I would like to see 2.3 ebuild in gentoo too as it is providing some important bugfixes (qt4 backend in qt app etc.) :)

well, it was a bit more work than expected and I'm more busy than expected, sorry... see above for the (not yet working at all) state of things. 2.2 had a lot of gentoo-specific patches... you'll hear here as soon as things advance.
