I have carried out emerge --sync and emerge -uND world. But I received the following error message: 
 * Digest verification failed:
 * /usr/portage/sys-fs/udev/udev-9999.ebuild
 * Reason: Filesize does not match recorded size
 * Got: 14426
 * Expected: 14430
 * Digest verification failed:
 * /usr/portage/sys-fs/udev/udev-171-r1.ebuild
 * Reason: Filesize does not match recorded size
 * Got: 15984
 * Expected: 15987

It seems that there is a bug in portage tree.

Does it still fail? Maybe you just updated while udev changes were commited.
