Description larophel 2011-06-28 19:37:56 UTC
Since upgrading to media-fonts/corefonts version 1-r6, some of my bold fonts look weird.
For example, see the letter "N" in the attached image: the vertical parts of the "N" are thinner than the diagonal part.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install media-fonts/corefonts 1-r6
2. Reboot
Actual Results:
Bold fonts look bad.

Expected Results:
Bold fonts should look the same as with media-fonts/corefonts 1-r5

If I downgrade to media-fonts/corefonts version 1-r5, this problem goes away.

Small update: this problem only appears when hinting is enabled.

Same here.
