In a way it's a dupe of bug 372825... Not quite though - that bug is being hijacked by this problem. I can confirm this issue. As already mentioned this is also discussed in bug 372825, which is however closed with NEEDINFO. This bug being UNCONFIRMED I do not see how this problem is going to be tackled. I ran into this bug too. Here on a russian forum http://www.linux.org.ru/forum/general/6457365 it is suggested that this is cured with: USE="-xulrunner" emerge -uDN world This rebuilds libproxy without the xulrunner support, and somehow the error is gone. (I haven't checked this myself yet, though) A datapoint: Rebuilding libproxy with USE="-xulrunner" solved this for me. Er, I should add that I'm also using the combination of Firefox 5.0-r1 and GNOME3 from the gnome overlay. I'd also have tried unmerging xulrunner-2.0.1 itself, but I have other things depending on it right now (libreoffice, gjs). Now, there's a funny thing... Yes, [-xulrunner] did help, but that useflag for libproxy refers actually to mozjs. I've tried libproxy 0.4.7 (not in portage yet) with spidermonkey 1.8.5 (masked) and the crash still happened while [xulrunner] was set. I'd think a symbol clash, but there seems to be something more. On that note: xulrunner was built with '--with-shared-js', for firefox 5.0, there's no xulrunner - perhaps that option should be passed here too ? Cause I managed to get "out of memory" crash without it (for the moment, with about the same session, things seem to work fine after I've passed that option). libproxy no longer has USE=xulrunner. It was removed due to bug 360893. Marking this as fixed now. |
