Since baselayout-2 is stable everywhere now, there is no maintenance planned for baselayout-1. |
The sys-apps/baselayout-1.12.14-r1 ebuild uses ${PORTDIR} to create the /usr/portage directory. That doesn't seem really reliable, I'd suggest using explicit /usr/portage instead. AFAICS baselayout-2 ebuilds don't create the portdir at all.
