Description Linda 2011-06-22 19:24:29 UTC
I am using Gentoo Kernel 2.6.38-r6-i686. After emerging sys-apps/baselayout-2.0.2,updating the config files and rebooting. I am getting "mount.nfs: rpc.statd not running but is required for remote locking..." when I try to start /etc/init.d/rpc.statd it says that it is already running.

When I type in mount -a -t nfs,nfs4 I get the same rpc.statd not running error.
I have not been able to find an answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

please post `emerge --info` as an attachment in all of your bug reports

post the output of `ps aux` as an attachment. and try running:
/etc/init.d/rpc.statd restart
