The 11.6 driver is out. It seems it fixes compilation bug #297322. 
In addition, the ebuild has a problem on amd64 because it doesn't install all 32bit libraries which results in ID tech 4 games haging on exit #368005
I've attached a patch to the ebuild that seems to take care of this problem.

Note, since I use a 2.6.38 kernel, I didn't test if the 2.6.39 patch is still required. 
Also I'm not sure if the fix with the missing libs is proper. I seems it worked for me though.

You are more quick then my rss agregator ;). Your fix is surely needed. Thank you very much for spotting and also fixing it :D

The .39 kernel patch is still needed.

I will upload ASAP the 11.6 ebuild in the x11 overlay after a bit of testing.
