What was the output of 'lafilefixer --justfixit' ? What was the exact failing command ? The output of lafilefixer has 750 lines. I'll post just the following: orionte tpereira # cat lafilefizer.output |grep libxcb /usr/lib/libxcb-property.la already clean, skipping update. I don't exactly understand what you mean by "exact failing command", but when i try to emerge app-text/xdvik, it fails here: /bin/sh ../libtool --mode=link gcc -o xdvi-xaw -Wl,-O1 -Wl,--as-needed browser.o dl_list.o dvi-draw.o dvi-init.o dvisel.o encodings.o events.o exit-handlers.o filehist.o font-open.o gf.o string_list.o hypertex.o image-magick.o main.o mime.o my-snprintf.o my-vsnprintf.o pagehist.o pk.o print-internal.o psdps.o psgs.o psheader.o psnews.o read-mapfile.o search-internal.o special.o string-utils.o tfmload.o util.o vf.o xdvi.o xserver-info.o x_util.o ./gui/libgui.a -lt1 -lkpathsea -Xlinker --allow-multiple-definition -lXaw -lXmu -lXt -lSM -lICE -lXp -lXext -lXpm -lX11 -lm mkdir .libs libtool: link: cannot find the library `/usr/lib/libxcb.la' make: *** [xdvi-xaw] Error 1 emake failed I forgot to say that all the 750 lines of lafilefixer's output are of the type: /some_lib already clean, skipping update. I'm not asking about a grep, just the final few lines. As for the command, that just might have been it. Check the la files of libs listed in that command, though even if you find the problem there, it seems that something is still wrong, cause either lafilefixer or revdep-rebuild should have fixed it. Any chance of you having trash in /usr/local ? Ok! In fact, there was some trash there. I deleted from /usr/local/, what I found to be orphan with qfile -o /usr/local/* and it was then possible to emerge app-text/xdvik. Thanks for your assistance. This was not the first time I had problems with old files left in the file system. Is there a way of solving this kind of thing without having to do qfile -o /.../* to every directory? Furthermore, qfile doesn't consider some symbolic links to be part of packages, when in fact, they are needed. I already had problems after deleting some links that, accordingly to qfile, were orphan. If you find an ebuild that installs files into /usr/local, then please reopen this bug report. |
