Can you please prepare a vector graphic for the trustees to review and sanction? Sebastian, can you please provide an update here? As noted, the first link is no longer valid. As background context, in 2004, there was a www redesign contest. The winning visual design (entry #4), including this modern font, was submitted by curtis119, who then tried to actually get something production. ~18 months later, the redesign effort was abandoned: https://blogs.gentoo.org/curtis119/2006/04/11/www_redesign_contest_is_dead_praise_diet/ I don't think the "modern" font version as seen here was ever used on any official gentoo.org site, and only existed in the www redesign contest in website variant. I seem to think that the logo text DID see usage on some media, which is where it gets interesting... gentoo/xml/images/artwork is the old public artwork CVS path, but was by no means the only artwork efforts. There is a CVS module called 'gaming', that contained the assets for the short-lived Gentoo Games Inc entity. The lasting results of that were the turnkey ISO images for running Unreal Tournament and other games. That might be worth checking out. I don't have a copy to hand, but you should be able to cvs co still. There is also the x11-themes/gentoo-artwork-livecd package, of which the 2007.0 media DEFINITELY has the same font as logo-2006.png.
