The openafs 1.6.0 pre6 was released on 4th of June which fixes the compilation with kernels 2.6.38 and 2.6.39.

I do run it on 2.6.39-gentoo-r1 kernel and it works fine, but it is only tested as a client, not as the openafs server.

The ebuilds net-fs/openafs-1.6.0_pre6.ebuild and net-fs/openafs-kernel-1.6.0_pre6.ebuild are clones of openafs-1.6.0_pre3 and openafs-kernel-1.6.0_pre3.

The patches in /src/patchsets/openafs/patches/1.6 should be used without any modification to create openafs-1.6.0_pre6-patches-1.tar.bz2  (the tarball is identical to pre3).

openafs developers will not support any kernels >2.6.37 for openafs-1.4, and 1.6 should be released soon.
