Description Gert Andersen 2011-06-08 23:33:59 UTC
When I try to install a new gentoo on a empty harddisk over 500GB with latest and newest kernel 2.6.38-r6 (or younger) isn'et gentoo-sources and genkernel not working compiling the /dev sources and gives error with all the application for the /dev programs, and nothing is come in the /dev directories.
This happens both with the profiles is set to server and desktop. When try it on a x86 pc is genkernel just compile without comes with error and it just missing the files in /dev. Then tries woth a AMD K8 64bit pc comes there error with the sys dev fles compilig.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. genkernel all (x86 with cd latest stage3 and latest portage
2. genkernel al ( on a AMD K8 II BOX 64 - with the same as above)
3.
Actual Results:
Error for the compiling sources for /DEV tools. Lot of erro for at leat 50 /dev tools.

Expected Results:
GEnkernel shoudl have compiled it all in to the kernel and have made all the files and program in directory /dev, and have worked well.

It look lie it is only when using the latest isa files, stage3 tar.bz2 and latest-portage.tar.bz2 the error comes.
And now other program is runing other than the install og gentoo 11.0 and it is boht for x86 and AMD 64.

No emerge.info why it has been done after the handbook.
