Description radioactivesin 2004-01-02 11:21:40 UTC
I tried to emerge system, and recived errors when trying to download slang from ft[://jedsoft.org. I attempted to connect to said ftp from several other locations and it seems to have dissapeared. Furthermore, there is no mention of it on the slang homepage http://www.jedsoft.org/slang/download.html . I've also tried to emerge slang by itself, and recived the same error.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.cd /usr/portage
2.emerge sys-libs/slang/slang-1.4.9.ebuild
3.

Actual Results:
Calculating dependancies ...done!
>>> emerge (1 of 1) sys-libs/slang-1.4.9 to /
>>> Downloading ftp://ftp.jedsoft.org/pub/davis/slang/v1.4/slang-1.4.9.tar.bz2
--14:11:21--  ftp://ftp.jedsoft.org/pub/davis/slang/v1.4/slang-1.4.9.tar.bz2
           => '/usr/potage/distfiles/slang-1.4.9.tar.bz2'
Resolving ftp.jedsoft.org... failed: Host not found.
!!! Couldn't download slang-1.4.9.tar.bz2. Aborting.

Expected Results:
Download and emerge slang

I've tried adjusting my mirrors, as well as inserting the line
GENTOO_MIRRORS = "ftp://space.mit.edu"
into /etc/make.conf, with no avail (space.mit.edu is listed on the slang
homepage as being the primary mirror). I've also tried mirrorselect -i, and
selected about 20 differant mirrors.

Moving these so we can remove the "Install CD" component from "Gentoo Linux".

I apologize to everyone for this spam, but according to the bugzilla developers,
this is the only reasonable way to do this.
