Description Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2011-06-04 17:25:05 UTC
I don't understand why "umount -l ..." no longer works for me when nfs server is down.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have /usr/distfiles mounted using nfs
2. Poweroff nfs server
3. /usr/distfiles cannot be unmounted neither using "-f" or "-l" option, it simply gets stalled.

Expected Results:
/usr/distfiles should be unmounted when forcing it

It also causes # /etc/init.d/netmount stop
netmount | * Unmounting network filesystems ...
netmount |umount.nfs: /usr/distfiles: device is busy
netmount | * Failed to simply unmount filesystems
netmount | * Unmounting /usr/distfiles ...
-> to get stalled here

Any news here? This is really annoying and causes me to need to hard poweroff sometimes :S
Comment 4 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2011-07-11 05:06:27 UTC
has nothing to do with nfs-utils. upstream util-linux has already fixed things in their git tree.

and the umount will eventually succeed. you just werent patient enough ;).

Thanks a lot :)
Comment 6 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2011-07-12 03:31:42 UTC
added the fix from upstream to 2.19.1-r1
