fix build failure when using gold linker
gputils-0.14.2 compiles fine with LTO and GOLD linker enabled.
unfortunately, gold doesn't understand -warn-once option - this is why this ebuild patch is needed. for compilation purpose it does not matter really whether linker errors are shown once or many times
please apply it to the tree and close this bug. you might want to name the new ebuild gputils-0.14.2-r1.ebuild
Thx

In may this bug will celebrate its fourth birthday, in march its second counting the years a patch has been available. The bug still exists and is needed to emerge gputils-0.14.2 and current gputils-1.2.0, both in the tree - probably also for versions older than 0.14.2, but I have not checked those. (In reply to cmuelle8 from comment #2) > is needed to emerge read: patch is needed if non-bfd linker is used of course, patch will not break gnu-bfd linker compiles (In reply to cmuelle8 from comment #2) cut the snark Jason worked around this while bumping 1.4.0 via bug 553752 |
