Were you unmerging build dependencies ?
intltool depends on dev-perl/XML-Parser unconditionally.

No. But I can see what's the reason for this. Looks like this is caused by forgotten --with-bdeps=y when part of the stuff is installed from packages (--usepkg). So this is ivalid then, sorry. (:
