Bug #82192 brings in a patch for having bzip2 display a progress indicator as it compresses a file. Unfortunately, the initial patch on that bug does not work with large files. Justin Binns posted a subsequent patch that claims to work with large files on that same bug, but it seems nobody saw it as the bug was marked resolved at the time. It would be nice if progress monitoring worked with large files!

bzip2-1.0.6-r2 includes updated patch
