Why don't you use the minimal CD to install on a VM? What advantage is there in using a >2GB iso to install on a virtualization environment? The minimal CD does have support for the virtio drivers. We can update the kernel specs, though. Didn't catch that it was in the minimal cd. I typically have the full live DVD's in my walkaround bag, so that is what I tended to dump or download when working with guests. @ten: Do we want to "worry" with the dvd being used in server / virtualization environments or should users use the installcd for those? I'll add support for it as it shouldn't cause any maintenance issues. I'll report back here with link to iso which has support for it. New testing image has been added with virtio drivers. see #gentoo-ten for more info. I'm dropping the release alias from here. adding block on livedvd tracker fixed and will be included on new livedvd this month. this is missing on 12.1 but if you still need it, you are free to enable them and recompile the kernel as a workaround for now. 13.0 livedvd will have this, reopen if you encounter issues. |
