+ 26 Apr 2011; Gilles Dartiguelongue <eva@gentoo.org> glib-2.28.5.ebuild, + glib-2.28.6.ebuild: + Drop disable-visibility, bug #364989. + Thanks for reporting. We probably should have converted this to --disable-Bsymbolic instead, as glib converted from its own visibility hacks to -Bsymbolic-functions in ~2.26. But there's only point in that if GObject RefDbg works thanks to that (this all is USE=debug specific, too non-negligible performance impact for normal use) (In reply to comment #2) > We probably should have converted this to --disable-Bsymbolic instead, Well, as --disable-visibility is not even recognized, I guess you mean we should also disable-Bsymbolic, no? I said that we should look if anything is necessary to make RefDbg work with recent glib with USE=debug (if it involved a performance hit for normal usage like --disable-visibility did). If that means passing --disable-Bsymbolic (which essentially replaced --disable-visibility), then that's it, but I haven't looked into the details of what exactly is necessary, if anything. Feel free to reopen when it's clear what to finally fix or do |
