i can confirm this problem too. alot of important packages like pulseaudio failes and let alot of other application also crash too because missing this libxcb-atom.so. Dito - see bug 364929. The xcb_atom_get() function has been removed from xcb-util. $ grep xcb_atom_get xcb-util-0.3.8/NEWS - Remove synchronous xcb_atom_get(). - Remove useless xcb_atom_get_fast*() and xcb_atom_get_name(). So I guess xcb_intern_atom() will just have to be called directly. I'll write a patch.
