Bug 364543 – x11-libs/pango-1.28.4 fails to build, missing libX11.la

While attempting to update pango-1.28.3-r1 to pango-1.28.4 on my portage-2.2.0_alpha30 ~x86 netbook, I get this:

/bin/sed: can't read /usr/lib/libX11.la: No such file or directory
libtool: link: `/usr/lib/libX11.la' is not a valid libtool archive
make[4]: *** [libpangoxft-1.0.la] Error 1

I rebuilt libX11, and I see the ebuild explicitly "Removing unnecessary /var/tmp/portage/x11-libs/libX11-1.4.3/image/usr/lib/libX11.la" - so I guess that's part of the problem.

I didn't have this problem on my ~amd64 desktop box - the pango update worked there without a problem on 2011-04-07.
