Description Hans de Graaff gentoo-dev Security 2011-04-22 17:46:18 UTC
I would like to request the stabilization of net-p2p/gtk-gnutella-0.96.9. This version has been in the tree for over a month with no open bug reports. Furthermore, 0.96.8 has expired and can't be used to the full extend on the Gnutella network anymore.

Comment 2 Myckel Habets 2011-04-23 07:55:30 UTC
Builds and runs fine on x86. Please mark stable for x86.
Comment 3 Markos Chandras (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-04-26 11:40:12 UTC

i see gtk-gnutella-0.96.9 stable corresponds to SVN-revision r18867. could you have a look into promoting r18877 as stable canditate?

SVN r18877 fixed a nasty bug which affected my machine, also r18876 fixes a memory leak:

"r18877 | rmanfredi | 2011-03-17 18:19:08 +0100 (Do, 17. Mär 2011) | 3 Zeilen

Make sure ~ expansion is done for path variables when changed at runtime.
Fixes bug #3215847.

r18876 | rmanfredi | 2011-03-17 18:17:26 +0100 (Do, 17. Mär 2011) | 2 Zeilen

Fix "memory leak"."

apart from that there seem to be mostly fixes for the Windows-version up to r18896, which marked the starting point of gtk-gnutella-0.97u.

I had a quick discussion with upstream. A release is forthcoming in the next month or so, and I'll wait for that.
