Description Delete ME 2011-04-11 17:46:50 UTC
1.) Please upgrade emul-linux-x86-opengl-20110129-r99 to include Mesa 7.10.2 (latest stable upstream release)

2.) Please create an emul-linux-x86-opengl-9999 ebuild/package or something like this which includes GIT Mesa (7.11 devel) and GIT x11-libs/libdrm (version 2.4.24 or newer)

3.) Please provide information about emul-linu-* package building. I want to know if i'm able to build the emul-linu-* packages (especialy the opengl one) by myself. The existing documentation (http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/base/amd64/emul/) is deprecated. So i'm looking for a newer one.

Root cause: I'm using an ATI Radeon (HD3200 currently but HD5670 available too) graphic card with Open Source drivers (gallium3D, ati, etc.) but i'm not able to use 32 bit based games which needs S3TC support. S3TC support is only available through external x11-libs/libtxc_dxtn lib and Mesa 7.11 devel is needed to use the external lib. 64 bit using Mesa and libdrm from X11 overlay works great but available 32 bit ebuilds/packages are missing the features.

Thank you.

Best Regards

Steven

Reproducible: Always

Actual Results:
Games like games-fps/enemy-territory are not playable because of missing S3TC support in 32 bit graphics driver (Mesa with Gallium3D).

Expected Results:
Games like games-fps/enemy-territory are playable because of supported S3TC.

This will be done when I have time for bumping all emul packages ;-)

I don't think we will be willing to maintain this :-|

Thank you for the information Pacho. I will think about it and decide how to proceed.
