Description Teun Blok 2011-03-26 10:40:52 UTC
Problem with fetching the flash-plugin for firefox. All of the sudden the url to fetch this stable version of adobe-flash does not exist anymore.

I have put this version in /etc/portage/package.mask because of the problems with the flash-plugin. The newer stable version has a strange behavior, e.g. flash stay's in memory on the desktop even after I have close firefox. When I restart firefox there is a place on the desktop with a sort of a window which shines thrue another desktop-window. With version 10.1.102.64 this problem does not exist, so I need this stable version.

Comment 1 Jim Ramsay (lack) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-04-14 18:42:35 UTC
This is a direct result of the "You cannot mirror anything" clause in the Adobe license. We must not mirror their software and they can remove it from the web whenever they like.

In this case it's perhaps not an *entirely* bad thing - I was about to remove this version due to a number of critical security bugs. Upstream just beat me to it. I have officially p.masked it in the tree, for removal in a week or so.

As for your other issue that caused you to use 10.1 in the first place, hopefully you have seen the other bug about these odd display issues with flash and nvidia: bug #355191. There's no solution yet, but if there ever is one it will be found there.
