it's bit dirty solution, but works. it requires modded ebuild , which i'll add aswell

if -ipv6 is detected, it applies noipv6 patch.
bit dirty, as it does not fix orbit, but it's gentoo solution afterall ;)
Thanks for the patch but, anyway, I am unsure about how future proof is keeping support for ipv4 only systems :-/ There is imho no point in encouraging the persistence of ipv4 only systems. Anyway the patch, as it is, is not clean enough for integration. It needs a configure switch (minimum), proper checks can probably be made against selected libc and this would of course need to be pushed upstream in the end. Oh and btw, if you are about to open more bugs like this, I suggest you open a tracker bug and even before that, check on gentoo-dev if there is enough devs actually interested into making gentoo ipv4 only capable. That'll save you some time I guess.
