Is there any reason why the patches provide both of these in the kernel?  AFAIK, the hw_random is just the newer version (1.0.0) of the i810_rng (0.9.8) renamed because it works with other chipsets now... See Documentation/i810_rng.txt and hw_random.txt

You should probably remove older code...

It may be a little bit of dead weight, but I don't want to take something away that works that someone might use. They use different CONFIG_ names, so someone doing a make oldconfig won't get the new one automatically.
