The ipv6 USE flag in net-misc/openvpn adds support for IPv6 transport (that is clients and servers on IPv6 networks) but it does nothing for IPv6 payload (that is having a virtual private network running IPv6).

In the listed URL there is a patch that adds IPv6 payload support to OpenVPN. It would be nice to add it to the ebuild. As stated it _should_ be compatible with the IPv6 transport patch.
