In future, directly assign the component as "GNOME", and prefix the subject with "[gnome-overlay] " The reason for the build failure is that you have NetworkManager-9999 installed. If you wish to use NetworkManager-9999, you should also use gnome-control-center-9999. I'm sorry that I didn't assign it directly. (I didn't find the option for that :( ). Thanks for the fast reply, I'll give it a shot and will be back soon. Best wishes, Ralf So... I followed your instructions and downgraded the networkmanager to the latest stable (0.8.2-r9). But now I get a new error message: Calculating dependencies... done! !!! All ebuilds that could satisfy ">=net-misc/networkmanager-0.8.992" have been masked. !!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request: - net-misc/networkmanager-9999::gnome (masked by: missing keyword) (dependency required by "gnome-base/gnome-control-center-2.91.90[networkmanager]" [ebuild]) (dependency required by "gnome-extra/gnome-power-manager-2.91.90" [ebuild]) (dependency required by "gnome-base/gnome-2.32.1" [ebuild]) (dependency required by "gnome" [argument]) For more information, see the MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man page or refer to the Gentoo Handbook. So as far as I can see, the available version of networkmanager is not up to date and doesn't fit the requirements. Well, should I use the live version of gnome instead? Ralf Workaround: Disable the networkmanager use flag for this package. This is fixed since 2.91.91 was added to the overlay. |
