modified ebuild including the patch

Description Aljoscha Vollmerhaus 2011-02-13 13:40:23 UTC
Using freerdp-0.8.2, when using disk redirection via " --plugin rdpdr --data disk:media:test/", i get "Error 0x8007048F: device not connected" and "permission denied
while connecting to \\tsclient\media" when trying to delete or move
files around on the client machine.

I´m sorry for not being able to supply the exact windows-side error
messages, for german windows is all i´ve got.

After the error messages, access to the shared path is broken.
Errors out with "permission denied while connecting to
\\tsclient\media" until i quit freerdp and reconnect.

I´m using W2k8 r2, if that matters.

Only message in freerdp output that looks related is this:

disk_query_directory: invalid info class

For completeness, here´s the full command i´m using to connect:

xfreerdp -f -z -a 16 -d domain -u user -k de --plugin rdpsnd --plugin rdpdr --data disk:media:/media/ -- hostname

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. use xfreerdp to connect to terminal server, specify file system redirection using options mentioned above
2. try to delete or move files on the shared media using windows UI
3. get "Error 0x8007048F: device not connected", loose connectivity with shared path (permission denied)

Actual Results:
file system redirection as a whole is broken until i quit freerdp & reconnect

Expected Results:
should be able to delete and move files just fine

According to the guys over at the freerdp-devel mailing list:

"It seems there's an unimplemented feature only
happen with win2008r2."

I´m trying to work with them to get this sorted out.

patch from the friendly guys over at freerdp-devel

I´ve got a patch from the mailing list, haven´t had the time to test so far.

rdpdr patch

Ok, this patch fixes redirection for me.
Seems like it was only broken if you happen to use 2k8r2.

Fixes recursive deletes, random disconnects of the shared path and editing files in the shared path with MS Excel (yes, excel seems to need some kind of special treatment)

ah, i almost forgot, it´s already included in freerdps git repository for inclusion in the next version, no need to contact them regarding the patch.

Could you please point me to the commit that this patch comes from? The patch does not list which files are modified to I would like to have this information

I don´t have a link to the commit, all i have is an email from Vic Lee saying he fixed it. Got that mail on 03/06/2011, so the commit should have happened somewhere around that time, if that helps.

I think at this time maybe it´s a better idea to just wait for the 1.0 release.

Not fixing bugs in unsupported releases. Try 1.0.
