In the ebuild I added "xorg" to the state trackers list --with-state-trackers=glx,dri,egl,vega,xorg and got vmwgfx_drv.so installed. (tested with mesa-7.9.1) (In reply to comment #1) As my intention was explicitly to not mess with the ebuild - if this is supposed to be a fix ? Who is then in charge to transfer it into the portage tree ? - Thanks ! Adding the xorg state tracker will cause circular dependency issues, as it cannot be built before xorg-server.
