virtual/httpd-php is only stable on ppc up to 5.2, whereas php 5.3 is stable. This results in blockers trying to upgrade php to 5.3 on a stable ppc box. 

(This may also affect other 'minor' arches - I haven't checked).

The solution is of course to stabilise =virtual/httpd-php-5.3 on all arches where =dev-lang/php-5.3 is stable.
