fixes compability with libnotify-0.7 etc.    please remove the old version while at it.

Builds and runs fine on x86. Please mark stable for x86.

thanks, marked it stable to get rid of the broken version asap.

Compiles fine on amd64. Just done a few brief tests, no problems so far.
Please mark ~amd64.
