The prosody team is going to release version 0.8.0 and has announced a release candicate. Prosody 0.8.0 and upwards will support sql backends so please see also bug #352379 (dev-lua/luadbi) to enable support for sql in lua.

Not sure we should start putting RC's in the tree just yet, but if Rafael wants to take care of it I guess I'm fine.

Please close this bug as I see this bug report was created twice by accident and this one is missing the ebuild and files. Regarding the version of this package (it is still a RC): I just wanted to share my expirience and work and if I have taken the wrong subject for this bug I ask for excuse.

is it correct category to luasocket in ebuild? - in portage it's located in dev-lua...

Ivan, in what ebuild do you see this? luasocket probably moved recently, the dev-lua category is relatively new.

as i remember, in prosody-0.8.0.1_rc1. But it is already fixed by Stephan Haller.
