installing flumotion-0.6.2 with USE="dv jpeg v4l -debug -speex" yields an access violation on /root/.gnome caused by /usr/libexec/gstreamer-0.10/gst-plugin-scanner -l (full log forthcoming).

i suspect media-video/gst-plugins-gnomevfs to be causing this.

yes - unmerging gst-plugins-gnomevfs and re-merging flumotion with --nodeps did the trick...
