eric-3.3.ebuild - major update
could you list just quickly what major changes were made? *** Bug 33650 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Alastair: The author removed the snapshot changelog, but doesn't provide similar information elsewhere (website not yet updated), so it's only the copied info from freshmeat. Changes: This version includes an interface to omniORB, scripting capabilities, a refactoring browser (the well-known Bicycle Repair Man), remappable keyboard actions, and a Russian translation. The editor supports split views, keyboard macros, bookmarks, and additional breakpoint types. In addition to these new features there are a bunch of changes under the hood, that should increase usability. Oops: btw. forgot to add optinonal omniORB dependency The necessary API files for autocompletion/calltips are now created by the ebuild. ahh .. i thought you were talking about changes in the ebuild .. now i see. ebuild related changes: 1. the patch 2. creation of api files and being verbose about it 3. bumped the dependencies a bit A note regarding eric3 snapshots: There are new ones every few weeks and the author removes the older tarballs, so I don't think it makes sense to add these snapshots to the official portage tree. There is enough other stuff to fix. btw.: is it bugzilla, that sends no/late emails or is it my mail provider? Created attachment 22101 [details]
eric-3.3.1.ebuild - PyQt-3.9 compatibility
Also overhauled the ebuild - api files are now created via "ebuild ... config"
by the user. Still not sure about omniORB. Making it an optional rdependency
would need a new use flag (e.g. "idl"), but I fear Gentoo ends wih thousands of
those.

could add the ppc USE flag, works great for me and the improvment are worse the update ... Changed the ebuild a bit, but before attaching it, I would like to know , if eric3 could be added to Gentoo mirrors. The author preserves only the last stable & last snapshot version. I think adding it to the mirrors is a good idea. I'm trying to figure out which version ofs eric/PyQt/pykde/sip play well together so I can get this in portage and fix that other eric bug http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37994 Rob: Adding eric 3.3.1 and removing the older versions would be the best way to go imho. eric-3.3.1.ebuild
+ "idl" use flag for omniorb runtime dependency
+ mirror://gentoo
+ ~x86 ~ppc ~sparc ~alpha, as in sip/PyQt
Thanks Carlo, 3.3.1 commited to portage. Guillaume, I don't know what you meant by this: "could add the ppc USE flag, works great for me and the improvment are worse the update ..." |
