Description Guillaume Benny 2011-01-08 00:34:44 UTC
With VitualBox 4.0, support for USB 2.0 devices is now in an Extension Pack. See http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads . Since I use USB, I've tried installing this expansion pack. It cannot be done since /opt/VirtualBox/VBoxExtPackHelperApp is not executable. I used "chmod u+x /opt/VirtualBox/VBoxExtPackHelperApp" an it works now. It whould be even better if a use flag could install it.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start /opt/bin/VirtualBox
2. File -> Preferences
3. Extensions
4. Click on the "Add package" button.
5. Choose the file downloaded from the http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads
6. An error appears

Please re-sync your portage tree and upgrade to virtualbox-bin-4.0.0-r1 which contains both, the Oracle extensions as well as a fix for VBoxExtPackHelperApp.
