Upstream just switched to GIT hosted on github, another popular branch of the xbmc code is also on GIT (which can be conveniently attained via environment vars just like the SVN ones in SpanKY's ebuild.

Ebuild based on git & fe other enhancements

- the ebuild tries to be very flexible about GIT usage, as there are also other popular xbmc code branches also in git repos;
- incorporates obsoleting HAL as in http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=349523;
- python is really "selectable" as internal or system via USE flag (by NOT using --enable-external-libraries which would unfortunately also imply using external python despite of explicit switch not to use it;
- ffmpeg also selectable as internal or system via USE flag;
- faac dependency;
- removes some strange brebuilt OSX curl *.so shipped with the source when building on other ARCH-es than macos

i guess someone will merge these.

hm, which one is it? there are many branches. :)

afaik faac support has been dropped.
