are you sure that the md5sum matches?
which version of rpm2targz are you using?
Comment 3 Takuo 2003-12-06 00:09:08 UTC
Thank you, Luca for your comment : )

I'm a kind of "newbie" ; ) here in Gentoo Linux and haven't aquired all the knowledege of the OS yet,,, I'll try to find out what **md5sum** means : )

The version of RPM is 4.1... but something tells me that I'm not answering what you've really wanted to know,,,

I'll stady for a few days,,, to get acustome to the system,,, and I'll be back... : )

Thank you again !!!

An md5sum is basically a signature for a file, to verify whether it's correct. The command `md5sum /path/to/file` will generate this. man md5sum has more info.

Thank you for your comment, Donnie : )

Yes,,, today,,, (after the week-end of good rest ; ) I've noticed that before I typed in the command " emerge -u ati-drivers", I've NEVER emerged the ** rpm 4.2_pre069,,, app-arch/rpm-4.2_pre069** insted of that,,, I've downloaded from RPM site the tar file and unpacked. (installed)...

So this evening,,, When I come back from work,,, I jumped on my pc,,, and I imerged,,,
** rpm 4.2_pre069,,,app-arch/rpm-4.2_pre069 **
and
** rpm2targz 9.0,,,app-arch/rpm2targz-9.0-r2**

then I tried the command " emerge -u ati-drivers"

And " it' works !! " without error message,,, :))

Thank you for everyone for your support... And I'd like to appolozise for my question and ignorance,,, it' was a little bit "sutupid" :)) But surely,,, I'll back here,,, with anohter question,, ; ) cause I'm just newbie !! ; )

With my best regards,
Takuo
