Description Stephan Litterst 2010-12-24 15:04:48 UTC
After upgrading the kernel to 2.6.36-gentoo-r5 /x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers-173.14.2 won't compile.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. upgrade your kernel to 2.6.36-gentoo-r5
2. emerge /x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers (with ">=x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers-177.0.0" in your package.mask - yes it is an old card...)
3./x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers-173.14.2 won't compile.

I am sorry, there is still the same problem here while compiling nvidia-drivers.
I am talking about the nvidia-drivers version 173.14.27 which is not the same version as in bug 341975.

The problem is the same, the package version is different. A new bug is not necessary for every version of the package.

Have you tried 173.14.28? I believe that contains the necessary fix from nvidia.
Comment 5 Stephan Litterst 2010-12-25 07:06:33 UTC
I am sorry. I only get the version 173.14.27:

emerge -pv nvidia-drivers

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!

Ah, it hasn't been marked stable on x86.

I'm marking this as a dup of the stabilization bug; once that is closed you should be all set.
