Startup a "normal" gnome-session via tightvncserver + tightvncviewer on a LAN (198.168.1.x). Gnome session starts fine, panels display fine. Both the "Places" and "System" pull-down menus operate correctly. The "Applications" pull-down menu fails to work at all (so one cannot easily select/start any normal program other than those already added to the panel (as icons) or the desktop (as a launcher).

Steps to Reproduce:
1. See documentation in Bug #349196 for startup information.
Actual Results:
Gnome session starts, most functions work fine. However, attempting to left-mouse-button click to pull down the Applications menu does nothing. Places and System menu work fine.

Also of note, right-mouse-click on System -> Edit Menus results in an seeming infinite loop of attempting to start menu editing functions. One can terminate this if one happens to click on the (CLOSE) button at the right time. A similar behavior is seen with a panel containing the Gnome Sensors Applet 2.2.4 when one logs in or one attempts to edit the Preferences for the Sensors.

Expected Results:
All Gnome windows, sub-windows, menus, editing should work correctly when using a session via VNC. These *SHOULD* all be tested in VNC before Gnome 2.32 is released as a production version. E.g. dependencies on local system architecture/X support should not have crept into Gnome.

See bug #349196 for emerge --info and related information. Please don't ask for further information until one has tried it oneself (in theory these functions should all have been tested before tightvnc was released).

I'm going to spend my time testing Xnest to see if it is plagued by similar problems.
